Are Our Prayers Really Going Unanswered?
Do you ever wonder why when you pray in the will of God you don’t see it manifested in the natural? Does that lack of manifestation bring doubt and wound your faith? Does it make you wonder if God even hears you? If so, let me help you understand the importance of your prayers.
First off, we are not fighting against flesh and blood but against the rulerships and the realms of their authority, against the world rulers of the present darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenlies. (Ephesians 6:12)
What Can We Learn from Daniel in the Bible?
Daniel, was aware that the prophetic timeline of the Babylonian captivity was coming to a close. Daniel began to pray for this approaching eventuality with a time of fasting. He committed to give himself to prayer and fasting until he saw fulfillment of the Lord’s promise. Daniel 10:12 tells us that the FIRST day Daniel prayed, his words were heard. However, the angel did not arrive for three weeks. In verse 13 we see that the angel was resisted for 21 days by the prince of the Persian kingdom (aka...dark angels in the heavenly realms). Gabriel’s journey was held up because of the angelic warfare in the heavenlies. The good and holy angels were opposed and resisted by Satan’s angels of darkness. But it was Daniel’s persistent prayers on earth that got the archangel through.
Our prayers are IMPORTANT!! The arch angel depended on Daniel and his prayers to get through. We are not waiting on God, God is waiting on us! When we move, Heaven will move. Then conflict will come and our prayers on earth will settle it. This story shows why we can pray for something in the will of God and not receive the answer immediately.
Be Persistent in Praying!
Don’t lose hope! Don’t throw out your faith based on what your physical eyes see. Walk by faith not by sight. The word tells us we have this confidence in approaching God; that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us and if we know He hears us — whatever we ask — we know that we HAVE what we asked of Him. (1 John 5:14-15) What great joy comes in knowing that we HAVE what we have asked for not that we WILL have, but that we already DO have! Praise God!
I believe the Word of God is true and I refuse to bow to the lies of the enemy. Don’t allow the enemy to steal your joy, kill your faith and destroy your hope! The enemy wants you to believe that because you can’t see it, it doesn’t exist. We can see that Biblically this is wrong! The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are open to their prayers. (1 Peter 3:12) The prayer of a righteous person has great power! (James 5:16)
Remain Steadfast in Your Faith!
Mark 11:22-24 “So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”
Just because you don’t receive an answer immediately doesn’t mean you haven’t received it. Believe that you have already received it and don’t doubt. Trust in the Lord. He hears you and He has answered you. Always pray and never lose heart (Luke 18:1). Pray until you get your breakthrough! Don’t give up! Be persistent! We don’t continue in prayer because of “God’s hesitancy” or the appearance of Him not hearing us. It is because we are at war that we persist in prayer. Satanic opposition is what we are praying through.
